Jimi Hendrix

Jimi's career takes off after he moves from the US to England and his first album comes in second behind the Beatles Sgt. Peppers. From May 1967 we hear "Are You Experienced?" from the debut album. Paul McCartney recommends him and and he plays LIVE at the Monterrey Pop Festival and we hear "The Wind Cries Mary". The second album "Axis Bold as Love" features the use of the Wah-wah pedal and Jimi begins to tune his entire guitar down a half-step to Eflat. One of his most popular performances is Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watch Tower" from 1968's Electric Ladyland. From the same album we hear "Rainy Day Dream Away". in a LIVE performance in Dec 1969 New Year's Eve we hear the Band of Gypsies in "The Power of Love". His post-humous recordings include "The Valley's of Neptune" from his last sessions at his Electric Ladyland studios in NYC. The final album issued immediately after his death in 1970 was "The Cry of Love" and we hear "Freedom" and "Drifting".
